iNDIEstructables
The IndieStructables formed in 2011, when Indie Rose Taurima was first diagnosed with Leukaemia and required specialised treatment at Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney.
The iNDIEstructables are a group of people who are now known across North Queensland as a fundraising force. Since 2011 the iNDIEstructables have held cake stalls, quiz nights, monster raffles, charity auctions, pie drives and garage sales. Along with this, we have received amazing support from local businesses, which has enabled them to raise more than $250,000 during Indie’s battle with Leukaemia. They are the foundations largest supporters and continue to fundraise to this day with their main event being a 140kms race from Mareeba to Chillagoe each year known as the ‘Great Wheelbarrow Race’.
